SPIIOW – the Isle of Wight’s Suicide Prevention and Intervention Charity have this week joined up with Sew Alive a great new service on the Island that not only makes homemade bunting from recycled fabrics for that special occasion but also helps to play their part in suicide preventing across the Island
Sarah Adams of Suicide Prevention & Intervention says:
When Stacie reached out to us and shared her heartfelt story we were taken back, then the offer to help raise not only awareness for SPIIOW and what we offer our community, but 10% of her takings to be donated to SPIIOW for us to put back into suicide prevention across the Island was simply amazing.Stacie Andrews of Sew Alive says:
I have recently been through the worst year of my life, my mental health deteriorated so bad, I ended up in hospital twice from taking an overdose. Luckily alongside family and friends support, awesome work colleagues and therapy I managed to get through it. At the start of the therapy, a girl called Emma asked me what it was I eventually wanted to achieve. I simply said I wanted to be happyenjoying hobbies and day to day life. At the time that seemed completely unachievable and unbelievable, however towards the end of my therapy I started sewing again, and was encouraged to sell my products! Hence the brand ‘Sew Alive’ because sewing helped me literally feel so alive.
