A local businessman has stepped in to help show his support for the work we do here at SPIIOW. Sean Ware, owner of Driftwood Beach Bar n Grill has come forward to buy items required by the volunteers for them to carry on doing the work across the Island.
Driftwood Beach Bar is a hub for all beach goers Island-wide, who love great food, refreshing drinks and cocktails and the cream of Island entertainment!
Besides the mouthwatering dishes, cool refreshing drinks and the Island’s top live acts that are on offer at Driftwood, there is something else that draws people to them time and time again and that is the location. Driftwood is sat right on the bay in Sandown, with views that span from Culver cliff to Shanklin
The support shown by Sean at Driftwood is a really really kind gesture, and goes to show that people and businesses across the Island support what we are doing and want to help where they can. We are keen to deliver our suicide prevention courses across the Island and it is the best way to get your organisation suicide safe and ready, be that a social club, office, school, College, local sports club then you would benefit from our suicide prevention training.
We can all play our part to make our Island a suicide safer community, and not worry about the stigma and taboo attached to suicide, and make it all of our business. Our next training Suicide Alertness for Everyone is Monday 14th January 2019 see HERE for more details, it is a half-day course that can help you make a difference. Learn to identify people with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources in your community.
